Warwick Conferences to host International Economics Event


Hundreds of the world’s leading economists will be heading to Coventry this year as the Royal Economic Society (RES) Annual Conference returns to Warwick Conferences in April.

Hosted by the Department of Economics at the University of Warwick, the conference will attract a wide range of delegates, from PhD students and academics at all levels to professional economists and journalists. The RES Annual Conference provides opportunities for top economists to network and showcase their latest research, with keynote speakers from the world’s top universities, including Princeton, Chicago, and Bocconi, presenting and discussing their work at the University of Warwick’s Oculus building.

Kirill Pogorelskiy, Assistant Professor at Warwick Economics and the Conference Local Organiser, commented: “RES 2019 is a great opportunity for Warwick, as it will bring a number of renowned economists to the area to present their latest work, exchange ideas, learn something new, and perhaps get a moment of inspiration for future research.”

Warwick Conferences will be working with the team at the RES and the local event organisers at the Department of Economics, supporting Kirill with the organisation of the three-day conference. Visitors will be able to take advantage of the accommodation facilities available at Warwick, as well as the easily accessible state-of-the-art conference facilities.

The 2019 event will also see discussion panels featuring prominent economists, and media observers open to the public. The RES Presents series will touch upon consider topical issues, with the aim to foster public engagement and inspire the next generation of economists.

The RES 2019 Annual Conference 2019 will take place between 15-17 April.
