Venues of Excellence Welcomes the First Racecourse into its Consortium
Newbury Racecourse in Berkshire becomes the first racecourse to achieve the excellence in conferences, training and events that Venues of Excellence audit before inviting into its consortium.
Now over 100 years old, Newbury Racecourse is one of the UK’s leading horseracing venues with a rich heritage. With racedays taking place on 28 days throughout the year, the conference and events team wanted to partner with Venues of Excellence to promote their outstanding facilities available to filming, dining, conferencing, exhibitions and bespoke events.
Sales and Membership Director, Mandy Jennings, met with the team to present about the consortium and now welcoming them as the latest member comments: “A fantastic new edition to Venues of Excellence really encapsulating our move to invite large, creative spaces to the collection. Newbury Racecourse is one of the most prestigious racing venues in the country offering a truly distinctive destination for any style of event; offering large, flexible conference and events facilities and is conveniently located along the M4 corridor, with its own railway station, easy access and masses of free parking. The facilities are suited to a wide range of business events from meetings of less than 50 delegates in their traditional Royal Box, to conferences attended by 1,000 delegates in their Grandstand Conference Suites, and is a unique exhibition venue offering large, flexible spaces. Externally, there are outdoor spaces for bespoke events such as summer family fun days, team building activities, product launches, classic car shows, and concerts, plus the venue gives clients a great opportunity to arrange a business event with a twist and combine it with racing. We are delighted to welcome Newbury Racecourse to the Venues of Excellence portfolio.”
Tracy Skinner, Head of Sales at Newbury Racecourse, the latest venue to join the consortium, said: “We are thrilled to be joining Venues of Excellence following the hard work we have been putting into transforming our venue. The consortium has a fantastic portfolio and we are very much looking forward to helping promote its work and become affiliated with like-minded venues. We anticipate many benefits such as joint marketing opportunities, additional sales and networking support and indeed, all of the advantages of having strength by numbers.”
Less than a year from the rebranding to Venues of Excellence, with a geographical footfall from Scotland to the south of England, Newbury Racecourse becomes the 37th venue within the leading collection of exceptional venues delivering excellence in conferences, training and events.
