Venues of Excellence Welcomes New Board Member
Venues of Exellence are pleased to welcome its newest board member Eamonn Cole.
Eamonn has been the Director of Conference Centre at CEME in East London since 2012. Prior to that, he was General Operations Manager at the 265 bedroom Victory Services Club in Marble Arch who were the first London venue to achieve Accredited in Meetings with the MIA at Gold Standard and who were also members of Venues of Excellence. The VSC won Best Places to Work In Hospitality three years out of four including the prestigious ‘Talent Retention Award’ and, in 2010, Eamonn made the short-list for ‘Britain’s Best Boss’.
His background was originally luxury hotels working in Paris and Germany before returning to general hotel management in the UK and then moving into regional fine dining and facilities management roles with Compass Eurest and Aramark.
Eamonn has contributed greatly to the hospitality industry during his long career including being Chairman of the Institute of Hospitality London Branch for five years; London Club’s Panel Chair; Mentor on the Savoy Mentoring Scheme; London Board Member for Springboard UK; and a contributor to the Best Practice Forum and Excellence Through People and a ‘champion’ and presenter for the quality accreditation programmes – Hospitality Assured and Accredited In Meetings.
