Venues of Excellence unveils duo of new members
VENUES of Excellence has today announced the accreditation of two new members – West Court at Jesus College in Cambridge and the EEF Technology Hub in Birmingham.
The sales and marketing consortium, which awards membership to high-quality conference, meeting and training venues across the UK, announced the new additions at The Meetings Show in London.
The announcement comes just weeks after Venues of Excellence reported rapid growth, with its membership size increasing by more than 18 per cent in the last 12 months.
Mandy Jennings, executive director at Venues of Excellence, said: “We’re thrilled to welcome both West Court, Jesus College and the EEF Technology Hub in Birmingham on board with us.
“The two venues are very different from each other. West Court is set in the beautiful, historic Jesus College, while the EEF Technology Hub is a very new development which only opened its doors in 2016.
“However, both venues wowed our assessors with their attention to detail, the facilities and services they offer delegates and their innovative approach to meetings and events.”
The two new venues join a list of major names with Venues of Excellence membership, including Alton Towers Conference Hotel, The Silverstone Wing, Whittlebury Hall Hotel and Spa, etc Venues Manchester, Highgate House and Woodside – both part of the Sundial Group.
To become a member, venues must meet and maintain the organisation’s stringent high quality standards across areas including facilities, staff, service offer, catering, environmental impact, customer support and health, hygiene and safety.
In return, members can access a range of services including sales and marketing support, discounted access to specialist industry training from the Learning and Development Academy, 12 member events, an annual conference and promotion at industry exhibitions.
Stephen Mitchell, director of apprentices and technology training at The EEF Technology Hub, said: “The EEF Technology Hub in Aston is delighted to join Venues of Excellence Consortium. Our excellent venue comes with a high end manufacturing and engineering backdrop and we are proud to be developing the talent for the future of engineering.
“Our venue is its infancy and we are extremely proud of the facilities that we have created, in the heart of Birmingham we can cater for all conference and event needs, our aspiration is to become the best venue in Birmingham for people look for a unique venue with a manufacturing twist.”
Christopher Ogston, Manciple (head of hospitality) at Jesus College, said: “We’re very proud to have become members of Venues of Excellence, cementing our commitment to going the extra mile for our customers and offering meetings and events space of the highest quality.
“Here at Jesus College we aim to preserve the past, but embrace the future, offering high-class facilities for delegates in a stunning and historic setting.”
Mandy added: “We unveiled our new brand here at The Meetings Show back in 2016 and our organisation has gone from strength to strength ever since, so it’s highly fitting that two years on, we announce and welcome our newest members here at the event, too.”
