Event organisers and industry professionals attend the grand re-opening of the Carisbrooke Hall
Over 80 event buyers and industry professionals attended a gala dinner last Thursday night to celebrate the grand re-opening of the Carisbrooke Hall following its recent £1 million refurbishment.
Guests included event organisers from Right Angle Corporate Ltd and Osney Media; and representatives from key industry bodies including London and Partner and ABPCO.
The newly refurbished Hall is within the Victory Services Club, situated by Marble Arch, London. It is the largest events space available at the venue, with a capacity to host up to 300 guests.
The reception commenced at 6.30pm with drinks and canapés in the El Alamein & Trafalgar Suite. Guests then moved to the Carisbrooke Hall at 7.30pm for a welcome from the Club’s chairman, Rear Admiral Mike Kimmons and a presentation by the CEO and Club Secretary, Air Commodore Nigel Beet, about the Club, which is also a charity that supports the Armed Forces. This was followed by a three course dinner.
The dinner menu was created by executive chef Paul Mattocks and commenced with a starter of Spiced Lemon Sole with Tandoori King Prawn, Coriander Sauce, Mint and Saffron Emulsion which was accompanied by a Riesling Trocken Ruppertsberger, Pfalz, Germany 2016. The main course of Slow Cooked Short Rib of Beef and Ox Cheek Croquette, Truffle Mashed Potato, Honey Roast Carrot, Red Cabbage, Red Wine and Balsamic Reduction was served with a Château Bois de Favereau Bordeaux Supérieur, France 2012. A Chocolate Sphere and Clementine Tart with Hazelnut Meringue, Cointreau Gel and Chocolate Crumbs was served for desert and followed by coffee and homemade Petit Fours.
Tracy Halliwell MBE, director of business tourism & major events, London & Partners said: “The Carisbrooke Hall offers organisers a unique and unusual event space that is perfect for so many specific markets. The CSR values of the Club will appeal to many companies looking to give something back whilst still holding a professional event.”
Kate Gaskin, director, Right Angle Corporate Ltd said: “I’ve really enjoyed the evening, the food was superb and the Hall is well laid out and beautifully decorated. The central London location will make it a perfect venue for some of our events.”
Gethin Roberts, managing director, Drivers Direct: “Yet another wonderful evening at VSC with amazing entertainment from the RAF band, first class food and service. And of course, a spectacular location.”
Heather Lishman, association director, ABPCO said: “It was fabulous to see the newly refurbished Carisbrooke Hall tonight. This space gives true flexibility for association bookings, and I am positive that it will be well received by ABPCO members looking for a central London location. The values of the VSC shine through, and the added benefit of it ticking CSR boxes on behalf of a great cause gives many compelling reasons to book. I look forward to hearing of its success.”
During the dinner, guests were entertained by the Royal Air Force Salon Orchestra, one of the many military bands which has played at the Club.
