EVENT: 2017 Gala Dinner at The REP
Join us on Saturday 1st July 2017 for a very special Gala Dinner.
The REP’s 2017 Gala Dinner is a truly unique event and as a registered charity will raise vital funds for The REP’s work on stage and in the local community. With Alice, the Mad Hatter and friends, guests are invited to explore a theatrical Wonderland backstage and enjoy a spectacular evening of sumptuous hospitality on The REP’s famous main stage.
Birmingham Repertory Theatre is an internationally renowned company and for over 100 years has been a leading producer of new theatre, commissioned and made in Birmingham. As Birmingham’s only producing theatre, The REP is a gem in the cultural landscape of the city and in addition to its world class productions, has a leading outreach programme taking theatre and learning opportunities to dozens of communities and thousands of people of all ages.
The REP is passionate about its work and relies on the generosity of its donors and sponsors to continue to develop its acclaimed learning and participation programme. In the last year The REP has worked with over 4,500 young people and delivered projects to marginalised adult groups such as people living with dementia, refugees and people at risk of homelessness. It’s nurtured new talent through its youth theatre groups and also through its training for up and coming writers, directors and artists.
Some of the greatest names in theatre began their careers at The REP, including Sir Laurence Olivier, Derek Jacobi and Peter O’Toole. That legacy continues today with recent performers including Lenny Henry, Martin Shaw, Dame Eileen Aitkens, Don Warrington and Paula Wilcox.
Help us to ensure The REP continues to be a thriving cultural landmark, a leading light in nurturing new theatre talent and a vital source of learning for Birmingham. Book your tables now for July 1st and be a part of The REP’s ambitions to continue to create accessible work that ignites the imaginations of the people of Birmingham and beyond.
