Awards Success at the 2019 Cook and Serve Challenge!

The heat was on Saturday 26th October as the annual cook and serve challenge went underway! The cook and serve challenge organised by Venues of Excellence is now in its 20th year and the gala dinner was attended by over 100 guests.

Venue teams from across the country were challenged to design, cook, and serve a three-course meal. As well as serving the meal waiters and waitresses were required to lay up a table; provide a centrepiece and produce two cocktails; an alcoholic and a non-alcoholic choice. Teams were then independently judged based on individual courses, drinks service and overall performance.

After months of preparation Head Chef Jack Jarman and Assistant Food and Beverage Manager Athina Vasileiou delivered a dining experience that was no less than outstanding. Venues came together for the awards evening and College Court were delighted to walk away with no less than 5 awards on the evening! Athina Vasileiou scooping awards for ‘best cocktail’, ‘best beverage selection’, ‘best food service’ and ‘food service champion’. Head Chef Jack Jarman a as worthy winner in the category of ‘Champion Chef’.

College Court were delighted to celebrate with catering partners; Wilson Vale who truly go above and beyond to create inspirational dishes every day. They consistently exceed both College Courts and the client’s expectations with their outstanding event catering.
